User Guide - 4 Keyword SEO Pro Output Intrepretation - Basics
An Internal Page is any web page that is not a Home Page
e.g
http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/measuring-and-tracking-success
is an internal page.
KSP shows us this web page has a PageRank 0.
Internal pages in the right sided columns in KSP are
indicated as white cells.
The corresponding HomePage is http://www.seomoz.org/ and it
has PageRank 7.
Google considers the HomePage PageRank as the ‘authority’ of
a website and all its web pages.
The PageRank of the HomePage of a website is the
Top Factor in the Google algorithm!
|
 |
1. The pink cell (red arrow) indicates the web page is a
HomePage.
2. The corresponding green cell (green arrow)indicates the
boost in effective PageRank.
HomePages competing for keywords receive a boost in their
effective PageRank to between 4 and 5.
This boost in effective PageRank is the second factor in the
Google positioning algorithm (program). (please see the
following slides for explanation).
|
 |
Four internal web pages (white cells) in the top 10 on
Google.co.uk for the keyword ‘SEO strategy’ have PageRank 0
(red arrows).
This confirms that:-
PageRank of an internal page cannot be important in the
Google algorithm.
The averaged PageRank for the top 10 pages is only 2.3 |
 |
| These four of the five web pages with PageRank 0 (‘seo
strategy’) have corresponding HomePage PageRanks 7, 7 , 6
and 9. Google clearly considers the authority of the page
according to the authority of the HomePage as indicated by
its PageRank. |
 |
There is one web page with PageRank 0 – www.vivisearch.com –
it is a HomePage . It can be seen that Google must be giving
a boost in effective PageRank when a HomePage is competing
for a keyword.
There is a second example of this boost to a HomePage PR
when the HomePage is competing for a keyword - see the #1 web page for ‘uk seo
company’).
